Gorge Fest 2005

Overeating on Thanksgiving.

-Deep fried turkey
-Cornbread stuffing
-Smashed potatoes
-Gingersnap gravy
-Homemade cranberry sauce
-Waldorf salad
-Fried peas and mushrooms
-Tarragon carrots
-Blue cheese buttermilk biscuits
-Pumpkin pie with fresh whipped creme
-Lots of as as yet to be selected Merlot

So, two questions: (a) what's on your menu for tomorrow and (b) what is the one dish that will invariably draw you back to the kitchen and push you over the comfort edge?

Me? The bread slathered with butter gets me every time. I think it's because I normally deny myself the stuff the rest of the year...

Re: Gorge Fest 2005

Just finished cooking the cranberries. Some orange juice w/pulp, a pound and a half of fresh berries, some cane sugar. Man these are good!

I'll top 'em off with some freshly zested orange peel tomorrow...

Re: Gorge Fest 2005

On topic, this will be my first Thanksgiving in my house, not at my parent's house or the "in-laws".

I am TOTALLY looking forward to not spending the day fighting traffic, etc etc. Sitting at home, cooking, eating, drinking and watching movies. I might even dig out the PS2.

Only thing we're doing is going for a bike ride when we get up...so we can feel good about eating and drinking 9,073 calories during the rest of the day.
