Re: My weekend project finished

That looks great man. What's running on the Linux box? Is that your firewall?

Re: My weekend project finished

Yes, it is one of my Linux boxes and it is serving as a firrewall among other things. I guess I should give a little more description. I have cat5 runs in each of the rooms in my house. They are all gathered into the laundry room. The Linux box acts as the firewall among other things. It also serves as my SAMBA, NFS, DHCP and cshing DNS server for the rest of the machines throughout the house.

Man I am a geek. I need help.

Re: My weekend project finished

It's ok, I'm in the process of setting up some serious VMWare action on my PC It's cheaper than running a whole bunch of separate boxes

I am a big VMware fan. I love that product. I am running version 4.5 workstation on one of my boxes. It works really well but I understand that newer versions have better USB support. We are in the process of evaluating their ESX server productat work. It is very nice. It is it's own OS kernel that can manage something like 125 vmware instances. Very impressive.

Re: My weekend project finished

I'm running v5. So far I've installed Server 03 Std, WinXP MCE 2005, Redhat 9 is next as well as Vista Beta 2. Now if I could get OS X to run on it it'd be perfect

Re: My weekend project finished

Uh openBSD. If your making a box secure thats the only way to go. I usually only use command line, but i decided to install KDE. only took three days to compile on my p3 server.

LOL Ive cracked all my nieghbors wep and wpa. I didn't do anything malicious or look into thier files. it just shows you running cat 5 instead of using wireless is a way better option. good job!
