ok, serious question about lock picking

The wife moved back to la crosse and accidently took the door key to my car with her. instead of having her drive 4 hours down here just to give me the key (would over nite it but have places to go) i would like to try to pick it. its just a simple tumbler lock but i have never done it before. if someone has done this, could they pm me to give me some info on what to do. Thanks

Re: ok, serious question about lock picking

How do you plan to start it once you get inside?

A lot easier to jimmy it through the door than to try and pick it.... Might just have to call AAA.

And then there's this asshole...

Re: ok, serious question about lock picking

Call a locksmith, they can have the door popped open within seconds without picking the lock.

Re: ok, serious question about lock picking

A few things to try...

Call the local Sheriff's office and ask if they unlock doors. Some Depts do and some dont.

Check with your cell phone company. Many plans have a roadside assistance package built in.

Picking it is not really an option. If it has electric locks, you might be able to use a coat hanger to hit the button. The trick to it is to pull the door open some, and wedge something between the door and roof of the car. This will give you a bit of room to work with.

Re: ok, serious question about lock picking

If you have the ignition key, use a brick. Windows can be replaced (don't even think about it SoB).

No, don't do it. The other suggestions are much better.

called the cops and they sent a boy in blue out but he still couldnt get it. called the cell phone company and they set me up with roadside and they cover the first $50. so it will still cost me $25 to open it but atleast its not $75.

That is cheaper then paying for the gas required to drive 4 hours. 8 hours * 75 mph / 30 mpg = 20 gallons * $2.20 per gallon = $44. Plus you have to figure in your time which is worth at least $5.25 an hour
