What kind of pda/cell phone?

I have Verizon and have been very happy w/ my service. I think I'd like to get a device that I can do everything on. Email, calander, mp3, bluetooth, cellphone, camera, notes, etc, etc.

The big thing I need to to keep my work and home Outlook calanders in snyc. Plus work and personal contacts. Mp3 player is a nice to have, as is the camera. I don't even really need to do email (a la blackberry). But it must keep my calanders and contacts in sync. If I can't do email, I want the mp3 more. I'd say email is my least necessary requirement.

Here's the catch. It can't be huge. I hate huge devices. HATE!

So which device should I get?

LG 535 slider. MP3, 1.3mp camera, all that shite. It takes a miniSD card, I haven't bought one yet. Best buy has 512Mb ones for 70 bucks.

And then there's this asshole...

If this is the right one, I think a colleague has one and it felt flimsy and cheap

Have you handled one yet?

Re: What kind of pda/cell phone?

I had the PM 325 and liked it. It's lightweight and TINY. I assume the 525 is similar.

For now, I really like my new RAZR.

I've had this one for a few months. Definitely not flimsy, but if I had to find fault with it, I'd say it's a little too bulky. The slider mechanism is pretty tight with a smooth action.

I was looking at that new metal Nokia 8800 slider ($1200.00) at the mall last night, it was the cheapest-feeling phone I've tried. The slider action was very poor. I dunno if their demo model was just ****, but based on that I wouldn't own one.

And then there's this asshole...

Does the RAZR have a calander? I know it can do alerts and stuff, but I need to be able to open a meeting invite.

How about the MP3 player? Have you used it much for that?

Re: What kind of pda/cell phone?

It has a scheduler, and if you get the data cable and PhoneTools software (I got the OEM CD, data cable, and car charger for $15+shipping on ebay) you can sync it up with Outlook Contacts and Calendar. (You can also sync via BlueTooth if your computer supports it.)

The MP3 player isn't that great, and there is no headphone jack so you would have to use BlueTooth or the internal speaker. The MP3's are also limited to 96kbits I think.

The camera isn't too bad. 1.3mp. At the highest resolution and highest quality it can hold about 95 pics. It also does video.

Just remember, the data space is all shared between the camera, MP3's, screensavers, ringtones, etc. I think mine had about 40megs of free space available after all the system overhead was loaded on there.

I have the Siemens SX66 (don't know what Verizon calls it). Added PocketBreeze software ($15) to increase Today screen functionality.

CD? Cable? WTF? Doesn't it sync via bluetooth?

Re: What kind of pda/cell phone?

Yes, I edited to include that. My laptop doesn't have BlueTooth, so I forgot to add that. You still need the PhoneTools software though.
