Re: Deputies Stop Motorist Driving Wrong Way On Interstate - "I'm not crazy yet."
Let's see - She's disoriented, headed to a doc appointment...........Oh let's not forget that she's 80 years old. She drove this way for 14 miles or so without noticing. Her only hope of stopping to realize what happened was that a group of officers stopped her with sirens blaring and lights flashing.
And to my utter surprise - There were no charges.
I would bet that after they got her car turned around she was allowed to continue about on her disoriented way.
I don't mean to be so negative. I will hopefully become older one day myself, but this is the same, if not worse that drunk driving. She should have had her car impounded, family should have been called to picker her up, and her liscence temporarily suspended until medical reviews show her to be aware enough to drive.
Ridiculous. If this had been anyone of us we would have been given a souvenier. Since when does age matter in this regard?
