Bluetooth headset/earpieces

Not looking for anything under the helmet, just a regular bluetooth earpiece with decent sound quality/battery life/and doesen't force me to look like im from the planet Zolgram when I use it. I already look like that without the headset.

so what are you folks that are really happy with yours, using?

I've been in the BT realm for awhile with the Palm, cell phone, misc periphperals - but never a headset...

Thanks

why put off today what you can wake up late and forget to do tomorrow.

Re: Bluetooth headset/earpieces

I have the "standard" Mot bullet shaped one.

It works OK by all of those measures. Can use it in city traffic with the window down, battery way outlives the phone, and fits OK.

Anyone that's talking on a head set looks stupid. For me they're a car/office item.

Yeah, me either. I haven't charged it in months.

If it wasn't work property, I'd sell it to you cheap SSG.

Re: Bluetooth headset/earpieces

Same here... I have both a Jabra bt500 and a Motorola headphone-type one (HT850 I think). I like them, they work fine... I use them both with the cell phone and the computer. But in the end, I just don't use them that much.

Re: Bluetooth headset/earpieces

I have a Motorola HS820. It works well and battery life outlives my phone (Motorola). It's very light weight and stays put. Never had any trouble with interference or other wireless issues with it. I use it with my home phones also (Uniden). I picked it up on sale at a Cingular store. I think it's great in the car. No more getting the ear piece cord caught up with the shifter, etc. Not to mention it works up to about 30 feet from the phone. Which is great around the house.

Re: Bluetooth headset/earpieces

I have the Jabra BT250 (or 200, I forget which one it is). I only use it in the car because the BT on my SX66, if left on, drains the battery too fast.

Re: Bluetooth headset/earpieces

The only headset I will buy is Plantronics, nobody has been doing it longer and nobody in the headset business stands behind their products like they do.

But I might be biased, they are a customer of mine and I have been to visit their really cool office in Santa Cruz.

Re: Bluetooth headset/earpieces

Ooh Plantronics..my work weapon is one of these and I love it, they do rock . I just don't like the look of their BT stuff for some reason, and have a weird allegiance to Mot or Jabra for the cell stuff in this department?

I appreciate all the feedback, especially the part about no one using them...so uhh, I promise to use it alot - who wants to part with theirs now?

I forgot to add my primary functionality of this will occur in the car/office ONLY. I hate those idiots that walk around Costco like a lost extra from irobot. For me its more of a necessity with the amount of time I'm on the phone for - I just hate dealing with my cell phone cooking my brain/ear/head and so I figure I'll give this a shot. It's also for the benefit that @ my house the cell service sucks. I can get stellar service in one part of the house if I put the phone near a shelf by a windowsill - its funny, but true. I figure if I get a bt headset I can just leave the phone there and wander around a bit.

LTL thanks for the 'driving with the car window down' reference, thats something I wanted to ask but didn't - as I didnt figure it was a valid qual since most people would tell me to roll the window up .

Looks like I have some more research to do but I see some commonalities above - thanks gang

Just to be the voice of reason... a Bluetooth headset is cooking your brain/ear/head too... instead of 0.8 or 1.9 GHz now it's at 2.4... but still blasting out radio waves. Hopefully just lower power.
