Sebring

Audi TDI Turbo Diesel wins. It is the very first Diesel to my knowledge in History to perform with such a great accomplishment.

Re: Sebring

The cool part about that car is the fact that it was among one of the cleanest cars out there. The rear of the car was still clean at the end of 12 hours. No smoke either - not even under the hard acceleration.

I wonder what this will prove for us in the next few years? Will deisels become our savior in terms of fuel consumption?

Re: Sebring

According to this month's "Diesel Power" Magazine, the 10 most fuel efficient vehicles in order are:

1. Honda Insight (hybrid)
2. Toyota Prius (hybrid)
3. Volkswagen New Beetle and Golf (diesel/manual)
4. Volkswagen Jetta (diesel/manual)
5. Ford Escape Hybrid FWD
6. Volkswagen New Beetle and Jetta (diesel/automatic)
7. Volkswagen Golf (diesel/automatic)
8. Ford Escape Hybrid 4WD
9. Lexus RX400 and Toyota Highland Hybrid 2WD
10. Toyota Corolla (manual)

No mpg figures were given, but intresting to see that diesels are doing better than some econoboxes...
