Re: For you runny nosed types...

...who don't like contact sports: ever checked out mixed martial arts fighting?

Bob Sapp's one of my favorite stars in the sport. He's an ex-pro football player, is 6'3' tall, weighs 350 pounds (a solid 350 at that) and is one of the most dangerous men I've ever seen in the squared circle. Knowing what I know about him, I'd have to shoot him on the spot were I to encounter him on the street. I'd not fight this guy with three of my best officers at work, he's that scary.

Here's a picture of him standing victorious after dismantling an opponent in Japan's PRIDE open martial arts tournament.

A story on the guy here...

Isn't he the one that they are trying to get Tyson to fight?

Re: For you runny nosed types...

See that's a whole different context. *Kicking the crap out of someone in a martial arts contest, pummeling your 'enforcer' counterpart on your rival's hockey team, those are expected and integral parts of the respective sports. *Punching your own teammate in the face is not the same thing...

Is a paradigm worth 20 cents?

Yes.

I pray it happens.

Found the link....

Sapp v Tyson

Tyson quotes are great....

'I've got nothing against Japan,' Tyson said. 'Japan has always been respectful and courteous to me and I've always been respectful and courteous to Japan.'

Quote 'It might be nice, but under Marquess of Queensberry rules,' Tyson told the Times. 'I don't really feel like getting kicked in the head.'

Might mess up his tattoo

Tyson is nothing more than a common thug, a street dreg who tossed away his future. I loved it when Lewis took him out behind the woodshed and a Sapp v. Tyson fight would make my day!

Yeah, you know it's a good thing I have the self-awareness to know that I'd never be able to kick your ass, otherwise I'd be on a road trip to Omaha. Since we're not teammates, it would be acceptable.

Re: For you runny nosed types...

Quote he etched his name on the ignominious sports trivia rolls again, by becoming only the second player in Vikings' history to be suspended for violating the NFL's policy on anabolic steroids and related substances.

Quote Sapp denies he ever took steroids, calling the test he failed 'a false positive' caused by a testosterone-increasing dietary supplement he was taking.

He's off the juice now though right?

Re: For you runny nosed types...

God invented shotguns for guys like this. What are you going to do...punch him in the stomach? I have my hands full with some of the 250 pounders I'm fighting now - I don't know what I'd do with this guy. I've seen him hammering his opponents in some of the commercials.

What really would be interesting is to pair this guy up with Butterbean, who's a pretty tough fighter as well.
