Re: OK, Web HELP!

Ok, in class we used the student server and we were each given a named folder(after our names) to create a web page.
Very straight forward. We created everything ourselves.

Now my problem .........There are so---o many folders and I dont know what to do with them all
That said, I just got a Web Host and when I go into the Control Panel I am confused as hell.
There are like 10 folders of all sorts, although it looks straight forward, I have never seen some before. Can I delete these folders and replace them with my own?!
Do I need to keep them? I am certainly confused to say the least.
This is the stuff I wish we would learn in school!!

Anyhow, I will post some screenshots for examples.
My host site uses 'cPanel 5' for anyone familar with it.

Thanks ahead of time.
Jay

Re: OK, Web HELP!

I have No idea about neomail, www, public ftp, etc.

We just had all the files mixed, except for private, images, and dbases, which we created folders for.

Re: OK, Web HELP!

I'm sure you've figured it out by now, but your primary folder is going to be the /public_html folder anything in that folder is public viewable unless chmoded otherwise or password protected (i.e. through ftp /public_html/jaysfolder/ would be accessed by url by http://jaysite.com/jaysfolder/).

The other folders (neomail, mail) are folders the server uses, I don't think the files in there are viewable by you.
