Went for a ride Monday night, still had my dark shield on my Shoeii. I saw something in the middle of the road, thought it was a brown paper bag, decided to kick it out of the way for my friends who where following me........ It happens to be a quite large FREAKING ROCK!!!!!!!! I fell like my avatar could easily be me now..... Here’s the result

Re: OUCH!

You are so lucky. Back in the early 50s I went out with a rider to help him understand how to ride on the hwy. He had graduated from 125cc BSA Bantam to this 350cc one lung AJS.
Saw a cardboard box in the lane, pointed it out to him & went around it -------- to my horror he swung hard to kick it ONLY it was a kids joke, to possibly shake up a cage driver if they hit it, & the damage to his foot was beyond belief especially considering he was only clocking around at 60 to 65mph (almost max speed of a 350 in those days).
Saw him a few times later & he always walked with two canes!!!!

Re: OUCH!

Jeez, I remember reading a thread last year on some other forum in which the rider told almost exactly the same story.
What the hell would a large rock be doing on the road?!? *Do you think maybe some moron (probably a jevenile delinquent) put it there? *Damn!

Re: OUCH!

That sucks man! I don't kick anything I see on the road, or hit them while in my cages as either. I've seen way too many bad things happen that way. I know people that have had their cars completely f'd up from stunts like that. When I was young, I knew a couple of kids that would put a couple cinder blocks and a heavy rock in the middle of the road in the winter time. They would pack the block and stone with snow to make it look like snow plow residue. The aftermath was not pretty. In the warmer months, they would put rocks or other debris in paper bags or plastic bags to cause trouble. You just never know what might be in something that is in the road.

Be careful out there!

I don't think there's anything broken??? It's not blue anymore, but still hurt like hell if I hit it, otherwise it's all good.
