How far do you commute?

This guy does 370 miles a day. The pleasures of living in California...

Reuters

Just 2 miles for me.

Re: How far do you commute?

He chose to live like an idiot. He wants a huge house, and to work in the Silicon Valley.

He could just as easily have chosen to live in SJ where he works, the safest large city in the nation, and IMO, one of the nicest places to live anywhere, but he'd be in a smaller house.

My commute is about 10 feet.

7 hours out of your day for driving to and from work means you don't have a personal life!

My round-trip commute is about 50 busy freeway miles, and even though I now carpool in the contra-flow lane, I still find it absolutely horrible.

Re: How far do you commute?

Oh, but he's got a "balance" in life. I can't imagine what life is if it's balanced with almost SIX HOURS of traffic at the normal 65MPH limit every day. Burning 25% of your day doing nothing but vaporizing liquid dinosaurs? I wonder if this guy ever complains about the cost of gas!

Re: How far do you commute?

I pull about 70 miles both ways if I leave the home office. Other than that I travel from my bed and down the stairs.

Re: How far do you commute?

About 25-35 miles round trip each day, depending on it I pick up the boy or not.

Is a paradigm worth 20 cents?

Re: How far do you commute?

About 35 miles round trip, and no need to get on the highway. 5 stop lights (3 within 1/8 mile of each other) and 3 stop signs each way on mostly country road. Only 10 minutes longer than when I lived within 5 miles ... and a lot more relaxing.
