I have some relatives that recently sold houses up in Cool and are moving out of state. (to Texas actually)

They made an absolute killing!

Heh, getting out of the state is a popular theme lately, and one I have to keep on the table too as my job teeters on the brink. Cool is behind other local markets in housing costs but rising at the same rate. We bought 6 years ago and there's no way we could afford to to buy now. In fact, we can't even move to another property here...the property tax alone is a deal killer.

I shouldn't complain though, at least I haven't been swallowed by the earth.
