How to get windows to stay maximized?

every time I open a new windown in IE it is a little less than full screen. I have tried to get it to open maximized by closing it when maximized but still goes back to its smaller shape. how do i get it to open maximized?

Re: How to get windows to stay maximized?

Close all IE windows. Open one IE window. Drag it out to the full window size (not using the Maximize button). Close that window.

That should set it to default to that size. I don't know of any way to make them come up in the maximized state.

Re: How to get windows to stay maximized?

hmm mine always seem to come back in whatever fashion the last one was closed. If it was shrunk for some reason then the next one will come out that way. If the favorites menu was open the next one comes that way.

I cuss at the wife whenever she closes the last open window if it isn't maximized and no side menus showing. Maybe I'm OCD......hmmmm

Re: How to get windows to stay maximized?

ahh, when clicking a link in a current window I have always just accepted that the new window doesn't open full screen. Don't know if there is a settign to make a new window opened by a link open at fullscreen...

Close all windows, then right click on the IE icon. Choose properties, then check the Always open maximized, or whatever the wording is...

I haven't cussed at mine yet, but she's getting me there.

I thought I was the only one who got hot about that.

Here's a program that does exactly what you're looking for:

It's apparently free, with donations accepted.

I'm fully surprised that iSheep hasn't chimed in already with a "to get Windows to stay fully maximized, you must reload it with OSX (and thus lose all functions of a real computer)" post.

Re: How to get windows to stay maximized?

Open IE and resize the window using the mouse to what size you want.
Then goto File/New window to open another instance of IE and resize that using the mouse.
Next close down the first window and then close the new window.

From now on IE SHOULD open at the size you set.
