Cell phones in Yellowstone Park

Cell companies are chewing at the bit to cover Yellowstone with cell service. They already have one tower but want to add more. On top of that, other cell companies want to be competitive and they also want their towers in Yellowstone. So, How do you feel about that?
Here's the article.

Re: Cell phones in Yellowstone Park

We have a few cell towers in N. Augusta that are replicas of trees. You would never know that the tree was fake. If the companies really want towers they need to do something similar to keep the landscape clean and clear of the signs of civilization. That's just my opinion. In reality I don't care.

Re: Cell phones in Yellowstone Park

That's not a bad idea except that the cell companies will keep driving their trucks up to the sites and do their maintenance. But what really bothers me is this NEED to be able to call your possie 24/7. Jesus Christ! Cut the damned Ambilical cord already!

Re: Cell phones in Yellowstone Park

Sounds like a good idea to me. Easier to call for help if you're stranded or hurt. Easier to locate people too, since almost all phones have built in GPS locators now.

If that is what they are used for, I'd agree. But that's hardly the case.

Re: Cell phones in Yellowstone Park

Watched an early twenty-something mother with infant on her hip (while lugging a 6 pack of Miller Light in the same hand she was carrying the baby in) climb into her raised Ford pickup while yelling at her walkie-talkie (in the free hand) about not finding any "papers" in the store . . .

Priorities . . .
