Gumball 3000

Tomorrow at noon the last leg of the Gumball 3000 gets underway. From SLC to LA with some hot laps out at Miller.
Something like $30M worth of cars and celeb drivers.
I'll have my camera.

Re: Gumball 3000

Someone keeps bringing it back. Almost all of them get tickets each year, but they all have the ability to pay without worry.

I hope so. I've been dying to ask him if he can show me how to do the "French Mistake".

Re: Gumball 3000

Of course you know certain sceptics note that perhaps 10,000 of the nations's most elite highway patrolmen are out there waiting for us after we start, but let's stay positively: Think of the fact that there's not one state in the 50 that has the death penalty for speeding... although I'm not so sure about Ohio.

Mr. Foyt: Well, how do you all feel now you have raped the American highways?
J.J. McClure: Beautiful!

Gas Station Attendant: 7-11, how can I help you?
J.J. McClure: Pumps one and two, hit 'em!
Gas Station Attendant: What are you, some kind of nut? You've got one unleaded there and one premium!
J.J. McClure: She goes both ways. The round orange moon pie with the white hat on, he'll pay for it.

Is a paradigm worth 20 cents?

Interesting race. I wonder if there were any bikes involved? That would make one a true Iron Butt.

Re: Gumball 3000

Well no Dom, and I looked everywhere for Burt Reynolds, but no luck.
Here are a few pics, though.
Kids in the pics are my son, daughter (tall one) and her friend.
Yes, ND, they are too young.

Re: Gumball 3000

Why would you put your kid in front of a yellow POS like that?

Yeah. There were actually two of them there. They're rare enough anyway, but two next to each other was pretty cool.
Of course, seeing 6 Mercedes SLRs parked in a row was a bit odd as well.
