While that's true, you could just as easily use free tools already on your, and most other people with Windows on their computer to do the same thing...without ending up on every list Google can sell your name, and whatever info they glean from your calendar, G-mail etc etc, to.

There's privacy, or a lack of, and there's a dedicated effort by lots of smart people to compile a large file with the particulars of my online activities for sale to anyone who wants to pay for it...

I think there are good reasons to sacrifice your name to marketing efforts, like free online picture hosting...and not so much for other ones, like a calendar tool already on my, and my freinds's computers.

I haven't experienced any slowdown but I only use it as a test so I don't get much traffic in that account. You have to say that interface is badass and I have been a gmail user since about day one... Windows Live
