Wildlife rescue

Saved this little guy this evening. Was over at a friends house in the country, the neighbor was cutting hay and I heard something baying. Took a closer look and saw this little guy had escaped the worst experience of his entire life , which is less than a week into. Neighbor did not see him as he was bedded down in the tall grass while he was cutting hay with a cutter/conditioner. I then called a guy who I work with that has rescued several other animals. His injuries are minor compared to what could have happened. The cutter cut the skin only in several places: at the base of his right ear, one side of his back probably 3"X2" and another couple of small places no bigger than a thumb print. He is a lucky little dude.

Sorry for the picture quality, the only thing I had was my camera phone.

Re: Wildlife rescue

I could not let a coyote get him. As it was getting dark his mother was looking for him, but due to his injuries his mother would not have taken him in. Even if she did infection would have more than likely got him.

It's amazing how stupid some people can be.

Re: Wildlife rescue

Good on ya Hammer... I probably spend more time on the side of tree looking for those guys (older ones) in the fall than most people, but I firmly believe in helping out when possible.

I was ready to ask the same question, but reread where he said "Was over at a friends house in the country."
