Ever Sold A Domain Name?

I received an email from someone in a food related industry asking if I was interested in selling my domain name. Anyone ever done this? Mind sharing the details? I wouldn't mind making a little extra cash to offset all the recent (and soon to be recent) bike related purchases.

Re: Ever Sold A Domain Name?

Make sure you get everything in writing, make sure you have cash before you transfer ownership, and make sure it's not a Nigerian company making the purchase.

Re: Ever Sold A Domain Name?

If it's a large food company, they should have lawyers that can write up the contract. Spend a little money to have your own lawyer look it over too.

Re: Ever Sold A Domain Name?

Yeah, if it's a big co, and there's some real bucks at stake, spending a few of your own on an attorney is never a bad idea. It is a seemingly simple transaction, but nice to be safe...

Congrats, that's pretty cool!

Re: Ever Sold A Domain Name?

I got another email from them and they are still interested so we'll see what happens. If the price is right I will gladly close down the houseofnoodles. It was pretty much a college website. Now I use it as a file server and for email. It will suck to lose the email addr but money can heal most wounds

I paid Baketech $100 to take down his site, HowILovePeteLetMeCountTheWays.com. How's that for a start?

Yeah, a thousand bucks might sound like lots of money, but if it's a major company launching a promotion around a website, $25k is nothing compared to the cost of the project.
