Ex-Marine fights off robbers, kills one

Thanks for making Atlanta a safer place! This is right down the street from where I live! I wish I coulda seen the face on the bastards when the guy kicked their arses!

They got what they deserved!! I feel bad for the ex-marine though, sounds like he's having a rough time with killing the baby... Mother had no right having a kid...

Atlanta police say a former Marine turned the tables on his attackers killing one and wounding another with a knife as they tried to rob him.
Det. Danny Stephens says Thomas Autry was walking to his girlfriend's home from his job waiting tables at a restaurant in Midtown Atlanta around 11 p.m. Monday when five people in a car approached him.

Autry began running down the street yelling for help as four got out and chased him. Stephens says one of the attackers had a shotgun and another had a pistol.
The suspects eventually caught up with Autry. But Autry who managed to pull a knife out of his backpack kicked the shotgun out of one of the attacker's hands. He stabbed a teenage girl who jumped on him and a man who attacked him.
The suspects ran back to their car and drove off.
Police found them later at a hospital, where the teenage girl, who was pregnant, was pronounced dead. Stephens says another man remains in critical condition.
Stephens credited Autry's military training with helping him fend off his attackers, who are suspected of having committed other robberies in the area over the last week.
He says the suspects will face robbery and aggravated assault charges.
Police expect to solve other recent robberies now that the suspects are in custody.
Stephens says Autry who sustained a cut to his and a bruise on his chest will not be charged. Stephens says Autry is very remorseful.

Heh... you beat me to it... the correct term is Former Marine. Ex-Marine is reserved for someone that gets kicked out for being bad.

The training never really goes away.

Murtha is an opportunist, he used the Marines for schooling and status, hence the reason he got out, volunteered for Vietnam, etc. Anyone else could have done this and I'd consider him a hero, since he is now a politician, he sucks.
Nothing wrong with taking college money for service, but dang it, that shouldnt be the sole reason.
Oh yeah, Murtha sucks.

Re: Ex-Marine fights off robbers, kills one

story says she was "about two weeks pregnant". They should really make this more about the jackassdom of a pregnant mother who is out trying to rob people, and what happens when stupid parents do stupid things.

I mean come on have some patriotism here, no need to focus on the fact that the guy was a serviceman and he killed civilians that were opposing his right to enjoy the rights he helped to preserve. I mean if it were Fox news..she would be an ex-enron employee who was committing the robbery because of high gas prices while trying to do her damndest to support the American auto industry by using the Cadillac for her robberies.

Just urks me because in 2 months all people will remember is some ex marine killed a pregnant lady thanks to this sensational media and thats a bunch of crap.

why put off today what you can wake up late and forget to do tomorrow.

Sounds like the right people got hurt and jailed. Feel bad as I bet the fellow feels bad despite doing 100% the correct thing. Also sounds like he took five dangerous criminals off the street and one future criminal (probably)

Must obey the sheep dog

Re: Ex-Marine fights off robbers, kills one

Actually, caught this on FOX, and they didn't say anything about a pregnant woman. They did say two assailants were armed, one with a shotgun, and the Marine used a knife to fend off the attackers, with one fatality. No charges would be filed against the Marine...

Re: Ex-Marine fights off robbers, kills one

No hurt feelings here. I would have done the same if given the opportunity.
He didn't intentionally kill anyone. If so they would have both been lying in the street when Atlanta PD arrived. They were found in a Hospital. That man was only protecting himself.

I feel for a child that will never get to breath a breath of fresh air, but even with that though I believe that the baby is in a much better place and in a much better invironment.
