Caller ID on Cell Phones

Looks like starting next month your cell number AND your name will be displayed on Caller ID when making a wireless-to-landline call...at least for Cingular customers.

That is all...

True...but you have to contact Cingular to do so.

My cell phone has been doing that for a year or so now.

Re: Caller ID on Cell Phones

if the caller is in your phone's phonebook, then it pulls the name from your address book with the calling number. If the number isn't in your phonebook, it should just so the number.

just dial *67 before you dial... Thats what I do when I call conqsoft, he never answers.

I think he means when you call a traditional land-line number, your name will be transmitted in the caller ID information to be displayed on the phone.

A while ago it used to just say "Wireless Caller", but it's said the name for a while.

Re: Caller ID on Cell Phones

Here in Michigan, a cell phone call will display "cellular" and the number when calling a landline. According to the notice I received from Cingular yesterday, the caller's name will now be displayed instead of "cellular". It must be either a regional or provider specific thing I guess.

just checked mine. It says cell phone and gives the number.

NASCAR is NOT a sport, it's something people watch to drown out the noise of the latest Garth Brooks album.

Re: Caller ID on Cell Phones

I can choose to block my number from being displayed when I make a call on my phone. I actually have that option.

.................and I have Cingular.

Re: Caller ID on Cell Phones

So you block it, and 95% of the people you call don't answer it.

I never really understood the need to block your caller ID all the time.
