Son's USMC service completed...

Well, four years and two tours in Iraq later, our son the Corporal completes his four years of service with the Marine Corps today.

He has served proudly, and considered staying on (they sure recruited him vigorously), but decided it's time to head on to college and a business career.

For those of you that were so supportive during his couple of trips to Iraq, I again salute you and say thanks. His girlfriend, who serves as a Navy Corpsman (medic) is still over there, unfortunately, but we certainly keep her in our prayers.

And I especially want to thank everyone serving in the armed forces. I'm sure your parents and loved ones are just as proud of you as we are of Travis.

Re: Son's USMC service completed...

bwhip, give him and his girl my best. I gave seven years to the Corps, some of the best years of my life. Pass a hearty Semper Fi on for me and thank him for me as well for surrenduring some of his freedom so that others may wallow in theirs.

Re: Son's USMC service completed...

Any support given by me deserves no salute, however his sacrifice certainly deserves a big thanks

Good luck to him in the future. I am sure his time spent will be an asset to his future sucess.

The big question is whether he is coming to Grattan Seems he should be available

Must obey the sheep dog

Re: Son's USMC service completed...

Congrats to your Son and you Bwhip ! I am happy he came home safe and has decided when to call it quits and go on to other things.

10 years for me and still going, sometimes i wish i had gotten out and persued college and became more successful (monitarily speaking) and other times i am glad to still be pushin towards my first retirement at age 38 and then start new somewhere else for that seconed retirement!

Again Tell your son thank you from me for his service, and i will always wonder if we have "bumped" into eachother in Iraq or any other "sandbox"

Take care Buddy!

I'm sure he's more of a man than his body shows. He looks like merely a boy!

I'm sure he's got a bright future. Good for him. You must be insanely proud.
