Input please...

I decided to stop working for the man, and try things on my own. I started my own company a few months ago and haven't looked back.

Just recently my wife finished our website. I think she did a great job and thought I'd get some opinions from others. I know some of you do this stuff for a living; and you might have some input or suggestions for improvements.

Feel free to fire away, good or bad. I want to make sure our company is well represented on the net, and input from others is crucial. The feeling I get is it is somewhat "Texty" if that makes any sense?

TIA

Re: Input please...

Looks pretty good! Only suggestions I would make would be to re-work the main logo with a Fireworks type of graphic editor. It looks a little plain. You could sharpen the images up a little and maybe make the text more textured (beveled edges, drop shadows, etc.)

I'd also fix the sentence to the right of the picture of the house so the "a" doesn't take up an entire line.

Good luck with the biz

Re: Input please...

From the Grammar Nazi (me), this caption is not the most eloquent:

A cabling system should be a long-term investment, be sure that it is properly designed and installed to avoid future network problems.

You may want to consider breaking it into two sentences.

Congratulations on taking the admirable leap, and best of luck!

I'll try to be nicer when you start trying to be smarter.

That needs to be two sentences. Perhaps: "A cabling system should be a long-term investment. Proper design and installation will help you avoid future network problems."

Oh, and congrats!

Everything looks pretty good, just that phrase needs to be redone. And like already said, maybe bevel the edges of your logo so it doesn't look so choppy.

Congrats!!

Re: Input please...

I think the site looks great overall, Id change the font on the "A cabling system..." as it cathces your eye and looks kind of ragged on the edges, then you notice the line with only an "A", the rest of the fonts on the page look great though !

Re: Input please...

I like it cause it is simple and easy to read. Find what I want without a lot of CLUTTER and web BLING! Looking at those cable runs is giving me flashbacks to chasing wires on P-3's

Good luck with it.

Re: Input please...UPDATED

Well after being down for three days, I think everything is back to normal. We made the changes, so let me know what you all think.

Re: Input please...

Looks good, but since you asked for feedback...

In the block with the list of your services, it says "Phone systems" - systems is not capitalized, but everything else in that group is (as they should be, as they are titles).

Also, why the color changes in the font where it reads:
Research has shown that up to 50% of network problems are related to networking cabling systems"
- Real Decisions
However, "Only 2% of network investments are allocated for data cabling."

If they aren't links, the color changes are just distracting.

On the Contacts page:

Contact Us below

Again, why caps in some places and not others? Be consistent.

phone: 402.730.4242
fax: 866-511-3923

In one case the separation is with periods, or dots, in the other case it's dashes. Be consistent.

On the About Us page:

"Along with fifteen to twenty-five years manufacturers' warranties, Cable Guyz Communications provides a lifetime "quality of installation" guaranty on all design-build"

Revise to "...15 to 25 year manufacturers' warranties..."
and "...guarantee..."
