A very hilly century ride - I made it.

Just got back from this:

Circuit of the Cotswolds | The David Ryan Challenge Ride

500 riders, 105 miles, 2400 ft of climbing. Nearly killed me but I managed it in 7 hours 19 mins start to finish including food stops. With an actual riding time of 6 hours 39 mins. Very happy with that.

First time I've riden anything like this and I really though that I was in deep trouble at one time. Climbing up Cleeve Hill at 60 mile distance or so, a 25% gradient. Have to confess I had to walk most of it (so did everyone else ).

the organisers had found the most amazingly quiet backroads through the most beautiful scenery. Picture post card Cotswold villages, lovely countryside. England at it's very best. Even the Italian guy I was riding with was impressed.

I'm never, ever doing another one. Probably.

Sounds like fun

Glad you completed it. I'm sure the scenery was great. I've always liked riding (with motor) through European countrysides.

You freaking century riders!!!

My longest bicycle ride was 30 miles, on a single speed . Anyone who rides that far or more impresses the heck out of me!

I used to ride alot in sicily, but stoped when i moved back to the states. they treat bike riders alot better than here in SUV land.

Aliens general, everything about them is alien!

Very cool proto.

Don't think I'll be doing any this summer, I haven't been on my bike in 3 weeks...maybe I'll be ready in fall.

Well done - and at your age!
