Some people believe pasteurization kills some bacteria (useful) and destroys vitamins in fresh-from-the-teat milk.
Not having seen any evidence, I still tend to believe that's true. However, the long storage times milk requires from production on large farms to actual consumption, I favor pasteurization so the bad bacteria that would grow during this time is killed off.
I've had milk on a farm straight out of the bucket (don't go there, BDA) and I think it actually tastes better.
