Airport rules

When i flew yesterday, we ran into some new flying rules:

1) No drinks in the aircraft purchased from the Airport. This was found out in Gandry, Cananda

2) No personnel hygiene - toothpaste, lotion, shaving cream etc in the cabin , it must be stored under the plane. This was told to us prior to leaving Kuwait, but when we landed in Shannon, Ireland. It was available for purchase in the Terminal withouth having to go back thru security.

Re: Airport rules

Once again you can thank those fun-loving terrorists from Al-Quaeda along with the knee-jerk overreaction typical of our government. Soon you will get on a jet with nothing but your clothes, and when the terrorists start making bombs out of them, you'll get on board naked (ever read Heinlein's "The Pupper Masters?)

I am so glad I won my own aircraft.

Re: Airport rules

Flying back to Dallas on Tuesday, at the Houston airport, I went through security and was "randomly" selected for a "tickle" . Cool, it's for everyone's security. Then my back pack was selected to be scrutinized along with my shoes . They electronically "sniffed" them. Cool, it's for everyone's security. Then, they made turn on my laptop, cell phone and digital camera . Cool, it's for everyone's security. Then they started to make all kinds of strange (IMO) questions . "do you work for the petroleum industry? do you work or have been for an extended period of time at a gas station today? " WHAT? I'm cool with all this. It really does not bother me. It's actually amusing . In any case, when they were satisfied I was very curious about why all the extra attention. So I couldn't help it and I asked . It comes up that my back pack "smelled" very strongly like combustible . Well after all it's the one I use to carry my laptop on my daily commute to work. It's pretty stinky now that I think about it.
