Cell Phone Help

Okay, so my phone won't hold a charge anymore. I have Verizon and while I'm happy w/ the coverage I'm not happy w/ the customer service. I guess that's par for the course. Anyway, my "new every two" isn't up until February and I can't go that long w/ this hassel.

I can get a refurb of the phone that I have (LG VX3200 el cheapo..I think ) for $65. Could be a good option just to get me to Feb. However, the phone was free when I got it, and my wife's was $10. So something about that doesn't sit well.

Add to that the fact that I'd like a new phone. The new Motorola Chocolate is appealing, but MSRP is 350+ and I don't want to spend that much. RAZR's are still going for about 200 on eBay. Eh, . Nice phone, but a little long in the tooth for the price, IMO.

So I'm looking for advice. I'd like to have MP3 capabilities (nice to have) and it must be small. Sex appeal would be nice as well.

Re: Cell Phone Help

Avoid slider phones. The flex cables go in them and the phone's basically ****ed. (speaking from experience)

And then there's this asshole...

Re: Cell Phone Help

Tell them that you decided to go with cingular and to cancel your service and they are giving you a new phone. It worked for me.

It's amazing how stupid some people can be.

Re: Cell Phone Help

they should replace it if the phone is faulty. if that means bucking up and paying $65 then i'd go for it and live with the crappy phone until Feb. maybe by then the phoe will be better and cheaper. either that or just fork over the $ for the Chocolate if you want it now.

I agree with you about Verizon, I too like the coverage but the customer service sucks!

Re: Cell Phone Help

Stay away from the Razr or similar phones. I had a Slvr and it went tango union on me. Went riding and had my waterproof tankbag with me. My map wasnt even wet but the phone was dead as hell.
Get insurance on your phone and wait a couple weeks to make a claim.

Re: Cell Phone Help

I've got a VX9800 that I'll sell you if you want. It's the "V" phone from Verizon with the full qwerty keyboard on it.

Edit: Eh...missed the small part. The 9800 isn't the smallest phone in the world, but does have MP3 and a Mini SD slot.

Yeah, you can use MobileWeb or whatever it's called and it'll do VCast. I guess you can email with it...I never used it though. And you can text message all you want with it. I pay $5 a month for unlimited PIX/TEXT to vzw customers since that's what all my friends and family have. I'll try to take a picture later so you can get an idea of the size of it.

Re: Cell Phone Help

If Heavy-Dee does'nt end up with it, I may be interested in the phone OSIRIS.

I go through phones all the time and I would'nt mind having a back-up.
