The Future of Advertising

Good god, I saw this over on Digg...

Seems Philips can now weave LEDs into fabric. Who do they want to sell it to?

Marketing people of course!

YouTube Video Here

So when are we going to see our .org LED t-shits for sale?

Re: The Future of Advertising

The future of advertising is in product placement. .02

Remember the slow motion close up of the Marlboro cig falling in the movie Natural Born Killers?

That's where it's at.

Or how in shows like "The Aprentice" they are always doing work for Pizza Hut, or Outback Steakhouse?

Feeble attempts, but the same concept.

Re: The Future of Advertising

But on topic, I can see these fabrics being used more for saftey than advertising.

Just that whole sequence about how they won't "sell out" while wearing, holding, eating and drinking various products and using their slogans.
Pretty funny, but it was totaly early product placement advertising.

werd. Forgot about that. See? They are already winning! Placed products in Pop-culture and I didn't even realize it. Well, I did, but I forgot...and it was masked by satire....

Re: The Future of Advertising

Now that we've completely jacked this...Adam Sandler with the subway sandwich in Happy Gilmore was another satirical product placement.
