Jet Lag: Don't change more than 4 hours at a time

Well, next time I'm out over the Pacific, I'll ask them to land in the water so none of us gets jet lag.

What a worthless result...

Re: Jet Lag: Don't change more than 4 hours at a time

Reason this is funny to me is cause of over hearing some Air Force guys yappin' about the JTFR (Joint Travel Federal Regulations). Think it states something about this. Navy always blew it off. Got a mission to do, sleep when you are dead. Anywho, dumbass people and the stupid studies our gov't pays for. Like the one about earthworms producing methane gas. Exactly WTF are we supposed to do about that? Put BEANO in the fertilizer?

Not sure what you're talking about. There's no regulation that prevents me from 20+ hour days and crossing so many time zones that we have to refuel mid-air.

Re: Jet Lag: Don't change more than 4 hours at a time

There's a requirement for admin grounding to recover from jet lag.

When I was in Germany, if I went to the states on leave, I was admin grounded for 96 hours upon return to "recover" from jet lag.

96 hours??! What? Did they determine that by size or something?
That's a-lot-a-lag.

12 hours per time zone flown through.

I don't question the regs, I just bust all the ones I can get away with.

That's higher math. I'm going to need one them fancy scientific calculators to come up with the answer to that one.

I tried to figure it out as well but we all ran out of fingers and toes to count. Including Nikki & Rascal

I wasn't making fun of you, just trying to understand this reg. What is it that you do again?

I fly AH64s. We generally follow all the same flight rules you guys do, with the exception of your extremely long distance flight rules. That's why I understood where you were coming from talking about your duty day length.

It really wasn't as bad as it sounded. I still think the drinks were watered down.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
