Ok you home improvement types...

OK, so the little box behind the cable outlet needs to come out so I can make it 2 DTV feeds and one Cable feed. It seems by feeling around it with a blade and looking at Home Depot, that there is a tab of this behind the drywall. Im thinking that the best way is to sawzaw the tab off and put in a "remodeling" or "old work" box in. This sound about right?
Thanks,
Chris

Sounds like the box is the one with the little flaps when you unscrew it the tab will not hold it in place and you can pull the box out.

Must obey the sheep dog

Re: Ok you home improvement types...

There are several types of boxes that could be in the wall.
Is the box plastic? It will probably either have a metal tab on one side that attaches to the wall stud underneath the wall board. If this is the case you can sawzall it off, but be very carefull there is nothing important for the sawzall blade to hit in the wall. Also a bouncing sawzall can do damage to the drywall on both sides of the wall. yes I DO know about that part! You may be able to CAREFULLY break the box off the metal bracket (if it is a plastic box), and then deal with the bracket.
Those plastic remodeling boxes with the flipout wings at HD should work well for replacement.
Please be careful with that sawzall, check for wiring and plumbing.

Conquer yourself rather than the world.

Just like leelover said check for wires and pipes.. I would be more scared of the pipes then the wires.. I cut through a water line once re-doing a bathroom for a friend and made a big mess..
