Re: Only Frequent Fliers will understand...

They'll give it to me with that.

But I do think I'm headed out to Austin for a quick trip in a couple a weeks...if the customer would ever confirm.

Re: Only Frequent Fliers will understand...

What's amazing, is that probably means I've flown over 120k this year if I include award travel and AA/Southwest flights.

It doesn't really seem like I traveled much more this year than last...but I have gone to Singapore more than normal, and that is a LONG way.

Yeah, I would be pretty pissed if United jipped me from 1K over 200 miles. American gave me Platinum Exec when I was several thousand down.

Perhaps now your trips to Asia can at least be in Business class most of the time.

iPod must be your friend. That is the only way I would be able to make that many hours..

BTW: have you purchased the latest 80giger yet?

Re: Only Frequent Fliers will understand...

I left my 30G photo on a flight a couple months ago.

My GF surprised me with a new 30G Video recently, but for the trip I just got back from yesterday, I only had 4 CDs on it.

For next year I'm going to make some changes in kit. High end custom 'phones and maybe a mini amp. And some kind of tether so I don't leave the damn thing on a plane.

You made a traveler very happy. I am sure they thought they hit the lottery.

I have been traveling recently, but nothing like you. Since, I got my ipod video, I never leave home without it. I care more about that than I do my clothes.

So far:
9G music
14G movies and music videos
1G pictures

Still have about 30G available.

Re: Only Frequent Fliers will understand...

Of course I was much more pissed about the lost music than the actual iPod.

I think someone from United got that ****er. I realized it less than 5 mins after I got off the plane. (You know that unsettling feeling you forgot something?) I went to the ticket counter and they wouldn't let me on the plane, but said they'd get it for me. I was in Japan so I thought I might actually get it.

Yeah, right. BASTARDS!

That's all you have lightweight flyer?

Don't leave it to chance that they will bump you to 1K, do something to get those EQMs. If for no other reason I think you will get 2 CR1s if you flew 10K miles this qtr, if you call and ask they probably won't bump you up until after Jan 1 and you won't get the CR1s.

Plus you need 3 RTs by the end of Jan for your 25k bonus miles.

Re: Only Frequent Fliers will understand...

I don't know how you guys do it. I pretty much hate to fly.

I have to make my first flight since the back injury later this month up to Minneapolis.

Kinda wondering how the security screening will go with the newly added Ti in my back - or if that will even be a problem.

Thank god I don't travel as much as you. My MV hasn't been ridden since Grattan! I've run it a few times but I tried a few weeks ago and the battery was flat.

I flew over 10k miles last week. I have to head up to SJ next month, if my Austin trip doesn't pan out, maybe I'll fly it rather than drive just to make sure.

Smart man. You never know how stingy they might get.

I don't know anyone who likes to fly commercially. Especially with the awful treatment we get by the TSA now. It's a serious battle to stay hydrated on long flights now. After 5 hours or so, the bottled water runs out. If you board for a flight internationally, no fluid allowed still, even if purchased in the terminal. I'd sneak it on, but every single bag is searched after security for US bound carriers/flights.

Maybe the only time I've actually enjoyed a flight was earlier this year I got bumped from biz class (which itself was a treat, as almost all my travel is coach) to first class international. Seat 1A on a 747, best on the bus. That was actually almost fun. The only spot on an airplane you're treated like a customer, not cattle.
