Re: wisdom tooth

I only had to have one wisdom tooth pulled too but I would rather go through child birth three times over again rather than have another extracted. *I don't know how people deal with having all four taken out at once. *Has it started to bruise yet?!? *Good luck...hope that swelling goes down soon!

Re: wisdom tooth

I had all of mine removed in one sitting. Never felt a thing... The gas and the other medicine that knocked me out cold probably had something to do with that though.

Geezus....you guys are starting to scare me....my dentist recommended to me that I have all FOUR of mines cut out at once!!! *

I told him to go f*ck himself and I will get it done when they start hurting....

Re: wisdom tooth

Had all four of mine removed the summer between high school and college. The younger you do it, the better. The top ones weren't coming through, but they pulled them anyway.

Is a paradigm worth 20 cents?

Re: wisdom tooth

Conq...you didn't have any problems once the meds started to wear off? That's what got me. I didn't feel a thing while they were taking it out...after the fact was another story all together.

QuikMike...I suppose keeping the teeth in there would end up hurting WAY worse in the long run!

Re: wisdom tooth

Nah, I don't remember ever being in a tremendous amount of pain. I used the pain pills they gave me and they worked well.

Re: wisdom tooth

I thought I was lucky only having been born with one...but it still hurts a bit. *the dr's told me it was ok and to leave it when i was young...then I turn 26, and all of a sudden they said its roots were growing towards the nerves...so they needed to yank it. that and a syst that was there behind the tooth from it being impacted. so a week after they said get it done, I got it done.

I too was knocked out...first the gas, then the IV. *man...I passed right out. *woke up and I still do not remember the ride home (45 min, and no I was not driving).

I cannot wait til the swelling goes down though...man. *monday I get the stitches

Re: wisdom tooth

I've had all four of mine removed. The Dentist tried it first, and found that they were all severely impacted and he couldn't get them out after breaking one of them. Hurt like a b!tch for the week it took to get into the Oral Surgeon.
Oral Surgeon does his thing, shatters them all to get them out and to be completely honest, I was playing basketball with friends that night. Went to work the next day. Practically no pain whatsoever and took the pills when needed.
Moral of the story - go to an Oral Surgeon.

Your experience may vary.

Re: wisdom tooth

my mom had a similar experience also...the oral surgeon removed hers and she was eating ice cream within an hour...I would definitely go to the oral surgeon to have my four removed...
