Re: thinking about a change
I had a good friend here at work that bought a mid-90's Miata and with just a little suspension work, some stickier tires, and a little bit of work has himself a really fun track car. He does a lot of auto-crossing and track days. I've been out on the track a few times with him and it's a blast. He could catch and pass Porsches and Vettes in the more technical stuff (granted the drivers weren't as good) but when he got to the straights they would blow back by him... but that made it challenging. He didn't mod the engine much because he didn't want to move up a class in the auto-crossing but for the same price of a new liter bike you could get into a really nice track car.
I believe riding, like life, is 10% what happens and 90% how you react.
