Re: Ahnald back

Turn on the TV and Fox news is already declaring Arnold the winner, and with only 2% votes counted. Whatever, just glad it's almost over!

Re: Ahnald back

Winner declared, with only 2% of votes counted? Sounds pretty sketchy... So how do you feel about having Arnie as your governor???

Davis bowed out hours ago, and Bustamonte was his typical Jackass self in his news conference. What a bunch of boobs.

I hope Arnold can pull it off. The fat lady has not sung yet. They still need to certify the vote. And what's up with no Governer's mansion?!?! Oh.. wait.. that would mean the poor saps would have to actually live IN the state capitol! Man... how hating it would that be!?!??!

The California Capitol is a cool place. My dad took me on a tour geee 15 years ago?? Took me into an office ...behind a plant a door that looks like wall. Go thru it and you are in a narrow corridor enclosed by glass walking around the outside of the what I think is the rotunda. It was like being in a scooby doo show with secret passages!!

Glad to see Arnold get a crack at running the show.

Re: Ahnald back

yeah, I caught one where Bustamante was pontificating some such BS, that he will work to support whoever is in office, then that BIATCH got on there and said, 'people are angry across the nation'. Where does she get off pulling this third world reteric? The CNN guy slammed her for spending I don't know how many millions getting her husband elected to the senate... It was awesome, she was quiet for once. Which is a good thing, don't think I could take that voice.

Like the rest, glad it is over. Now, repeal this frickin' licensing fee and take back all those immigrant licenses. Davis and his lame duck policies.

Re: Ahnald back

Bustamonte was clearly the most racist candidate by far that I have ever had the misfortune of knowing (Not personally). He stated that he would cooperate, not capitulate to the new Gov. In other words, fight him all the way. Also in his nonconcession speach, he personally thanked the Indian Casino owners by name, for their illeagal contributions. Remember he was ordered to give the money back. His response was that it was already gone.
I did not vote for Arnold, do not like his stance on the environment (he made the comment that he would abolish the EPA). But he would've been my second choice behind McClintock. Although I have a stong dislike for Arnold, the only candidate I was horribly afraid of was Bustamonte. I truelly hope the Democrats don't try to run him again. It'd be like Jesse Jackson being president (nobody but special interest groups would have his ear).

Re: Ahnald back

I know I don't talk politics anymore...but I can't resist this one.

I was very impressed by Gray's concession speech. If he sticks to what he said, he's truly a gentleman. We'll see what final legislation he tries to ram through in the projected 3 weeks it will take to certify the election. It also makes me think that Gray has no intentions of leaving politics.

Screwusthefullmonte? I would rather have paid the high license fees and kept Gray. Gray is the consummate politician and a moderate. Cruz reminds me of an old skool NY politician...

The talking heads in the media are saying the dems have hinted that they're going to try a recall on the Governator, against Gray's wishes. You know what? I hope they do. I think it would seriously injure that party in the state, and they might learn why exactly there was a recall in the first place...a voter revolt against the BS that party's been pulling in CA lately.

The other interesting thing I'm seeing is that 30 something % of the Bay Area was pro recall, 70 something % of southern California was pro recall.

Bubba, there's a law with minimal requirements (~850,000 sigs out of 35million people) allowing a recall. Gray also isn't the first. I think it was ND that recalled a governor, a long time ago.

...in bed.

I guess I could believe that only if I thought he had nothing to do with the last-minute smear-tactics against Arnold. I really don't care who wins the election, I just noticed how dirty the politics were (when aren't they though?). Why would anyone willingly subject themselves to that?

This is pretty interesting:

Recall Voting Map

I guess those along the coast would be considered the hard-core Liberals of the state.
