Re: Mr. Rollerblade man overtaking motorbikes

That's crazy and freakin' awesome. If I were doing that, I'd invest in some kinda of a braking mechanism. Having wheels on all edges is a good way to move, but not the best thing when you need to slow down.

That guy is a nutter for shure, A very strange dude in person. I race speedboards, stand up downhill skateboard raceing. Awesome sport, nothing else like it. Our top speeds on bigger mountain runs like the roller man videos are in the 100-110km/h range and coner speeds are very high. The hand on the ground thing serves the same purpose as putting a knee down on the bike. We even use the same stuff for hand-pucks. Here are some picture of myself from a few rides.

Sweet! Are those leather suits? Smart idea there. That sport would take a lot of balance and coordination.

Re: Mr. Rollerblade man overtaking motorbikes

yeah we rock leathers. Most of the pros (me included) have custom suits by NJK Leathers made specificaly for the sport. rookies try to hunt down vintage motorcycle suits because they are much lighter than newer suits and the lack of pads makes them more aero. Aero is the horse power of the sport we're constantly conditioning and training our bodies for more aerodynamics. Special helmets too. This thing is mine:

And a WHOLE LOT of guts! Road Rash must be a daily part of this sport. Awesome.
