Re: Stupid Nebraska player
Thought provoking, yes. But........let's say some guys are having a 'guy's night out'. They are at one of the local bars, and when they go to leave another young man outside on the sidewalk approaches them, pointing his finger at one of the guys and calling him a loser. Said guy knocks the taunter cold, blackening his eye. Let's say the taunter is a good 80 lbs. lighter and in nowhere near the physical condition of the puncher.
Whom do you take to jail?
Swinging the first puch at a guy much smaller than you while you are wearing protective gear does not self defense make.
This was simply an act of aggression by a player that was getting taunted after losing an emotional game. No self defense involved. Stupid on the part of the taunter, yes.
The guy shouldn't be playing the remainder of the year. He should have chargse brought against him, and serve some type of punishment - whether it be anger management classes (which I personally think are BS) or community service.
Oh, and you can pretty much count on Nebraska's football account getting lighter.
