thinking of a dodge neon SRT4 any thoughts?

Being as I will be selling my boat and moving inland I won't need a truck for much anymore. I am tired of getting 13MPG .
I'm thinking of getting an SRT4 it seems like a good bang for the buck and gets good mileage.

Also considering any 2.0T Audi or VW. I have driven these and like them too.

Any thoughts or ideas. These SRT4s seem to be going for cheap not sure if its because of poor quality?

Who knows maybe quality is better now on the Dodges.. Daimler-Benz does own dodge.. But in the past quality has been an issue, plus the bottom falls out on a dodge pretty bad also...

Explain why Chyrsler is the only company offering a lifetime warranty on every vehicle then. And please say something besides just the brand names.

Well thats probally because they have such a bad reputation in the PAST for quality... Im not saying Chrysler is bad anymore, I really like some of there new cars... The whole SRT line is bad-ass... We get to use the SRT 8 Charger for are unmarked police vehicles and let me tell you they are sweet.. So if you like the SRT4 than give it a shot... Who cares what anybody else thinks..

Have you seen their financial status as a coporation within the past couple or years?? The needed a last ditch attempt to keep their head above water and a lifetime warrenty just might do the trick. I mean it is appealing, until you come to realize it's not transferrable to you when you buy a used car that previously had the lifetime warrenty on it.

Re: thinking of a dodge neon SRT4 any thoughts?

Get an acura integra, 94-01, and boost it. You'll spend less than you would on the shitty domestic and have a honda that will lay all over it.

The dodge/ford/etc just dont compare to japanese imports... new domestic cars are actually DESIGNED to last 3-5 years, because many people move on after that long. Japanese cars, however, are made to last 8-12 years. Its ****ing ridiculous.

Plus, we all know honda is simply the best... heh heh

Daimler USED to be a merger partner with Chrysler. And Benzes are some of the WORST cars on the market in terms of build quality and reliability. Have been for some time. The only reason the merger went Daimler-Chrysler and moved to Germany rather than Chrysler-Daimler and stayed in the U.S. was the moronic and destructive U.S. tax code. Chrysler was the stronger company at the time of the merger.
For the money, the SRT4 is a decent ride. Plus they are faster than anything else on the road. ON THE HIGHWAY.

Re: thinking of a dodge neon SRT4 any thoughts?

Well i was brought up with german enginnering so i would be biased to VWs / Audis / Seats / Skodas etc. But what i dont understand is why you guys all drive around in big litre cars.

Ok fine, the goverment might be producing it and the fuel is cheap, but i have a 1999 Ford Focus (ZX3) 1.8TDDI and it gives me about 50MPG. Also my 2001 Volkswagen Passat, again thats a diesel and is a 1.9 TDI. That gives me about 65MPG and that goes like the dogs bollocks.

You could save so much if you were to look for a fuel efficient car, i was given a Ford Taurus as a rental car in Florida. My god did it suck. Ok it was a taurus, but 22.6MPG and it was a gutless piece of junk!

Any who, that is my opinion, not everyones..

Hope you find what you are looking for.

Take care

Hmm, well you have Lexus' over there dont you? They are amazing in build quality and reliabilty. French cars and Mercedes have been proven to be the worst..
