Re: What do you want to be when you grow up?

Do you ever get that, 'not so fresh'....wait, that is a different thing sorry. Read on:

Have you, or do you ever feel like you were meant to give more to the world than you are or have given, but just can't seem to figure out what it is you are supposed to do?

I feel like that all the time. Anyone else or am I a freak?

Isn't that a Jerry Springer quote?

Yup. I've pretty much given myself another 3-5 years of programming (what I'm doing now), and then I'll find something else to do. We weren't made to spend our lives in a cube staring at a computer screen all day long.

Yeah, I get it. It can be a hell of a motivator. Of course it can depress you when you fail too.

Very few people can honestly say they have fulfilled their potential in this regard. However, you don't have to be Mother Teresa to make a contribution; you may be doing more good than you realize in your current situation. That's not to say that you can't improve and/or move on to other things, but if you're 'stuck' where you are, then make the most of it.

Re: What do you want to be when you grow up?

Most definitely.

One of my favorite lines (paraphrasing), from A Bronx Tale is, 'the greatest sin is wasted talent.' Just gotta figure out what that talent is...

Is a paradigm worth 20 cents?

I know what my talent is, it's just convincing all the women in the world that I really do have it that is so difficult.
