For the last three/four days I've been getting hot flashes. It's the same place every time, left leg-mid calf-towards the back of the calf...like in the muscle? Comes and goes, always same spot and it feels like something very warm was placed there...after a few seconds it goes away. Same spot every time...lasts like four/five seconds then goes away and happens multiple times per day...but not in a regular way. Starting to bug me...any ideas? For once can we leave the wiseass posts aside?

Oh SH1T! I was all ready to post a smart-ass reply and then I scrolled down and saw your disclaimer.

Dude, I don't know what to tell you, other than it's just one of the benefits of old age. Is it a 'cramp' type thing? I know that 'older' folks get leg cramps during the night, and they have to take (?) vitamin for it. Whatever, I hope for your sake it goes away on its own.

Just sprinkle lighter fluid on the affected area, light it, then stab the sh!t out of it with an ice pick while trying to put the fire out. You won't even remember the original pain.

Sigh, I do feel sorry for you - I hope you get the problem solved soon.

I get a warm feeling sometimes above my knee, but that could just be my over active bladder.












Actually just above my right knee does get a warm like sensation rarely, but I've never thought anything of it.

Go see your Doc, there's a cardiac condition, can't remember it and I was studying this today!
Anyway the most common sign and symptom is leg cramping particually at exhertion (no chest pain).
Similar to angina it's to do with vasocontriction of your coronary arteries, ie blockage.
Like I said see da doc tell him a student paramedic on the other side of the globe told ya, might get a referal to a psychiatrist.
Don't panic bro but worth a visit, might just be musculer

If you are going to use medical terms like this one...'vasocontriction' please give the laymans definition as well? One question...will I live? I may very well seek my sawbones opinion, but hell if I save the $20 here......

Definitely worth getting checked out, sawbones and all.

And, just so you all know....hotflashes, or as I call them 'power surges', don't have muscle aches associated with it.

It could be old age creepin' up on you too, Fumb. But seriously, get it checked out...piece of mind is definitely worth $20. Let us know how things turn out.

Yeah, get it checked out. Is it red and/or swollen? Heat and redness/swelling could indicate a blood clot. In the leg they call that deep vein thrombosis. That usually wouldn't come and go, I don't think, but I'm no expert. I would get that checked out ASAP. IF it's a clot, you don't want it travelling to your heart or lungs.
