Re: Need PC help from ya folks.

Ok. My boss is having problems with his laptop. Ever since he installed Quicken, A 'System Shutdown' window appears and says that his Remote Procedure Call has been terminated. Any idea what that is or how to fix it? I've never heard of it before and it just pops up when it likes and makes it shutdown in 60 secs. thanks guys

Re: Need PC help from ya folks.

Stegen,
Did he install a legit copy of Quicken? The reason I ask is I am wondering if there is any possibility that he might have some spyware or a trojan installed on his machine? Not accusing anyone of anything. The RPC call isn't too odd, but requesting a shutdown is. And I don't know why Quicken would use RPC. Besides, what better program to hack than someones financial info. If it is a legit copy, then he should be able to give Quicken a call and get a fix. Other than that, hopefully someone else has more experience with Quicken.. Does it do this when connected to the net/lan or disconnected? And I would be leery of connecting it to a network until you get this sorted out.

This sounds just like the bug going around a few weeks ago. Get it patched.
