Pet Photos

I'm happy to kick this one off. Our whippett - Jack. A more pathetic dog you will not find, we would not have it any other way.

Re: Pet Photos

My wife and I had an Italian Greyhound. Might have you beat on the 'more pathetic' bit. She wasn't a bad dog, just annoying. We ended up giving her to my cousin who has a couple kids that adore her. Our Great Dane was glad to see her go, as she was always humping his head. Most funny was that.
Homer, the Dane, was originally my truck dog, 'til he got to big. Now he stays at home. We bought him a couch to match ours so he can be comfy watching TV. Slurpy is mine, the middle one. Never was a little dog person, but he's about the coolest dog ever. That's my son. The little runt is my wife's chihua, Noodle. A little freak, but she's ok.

Re: Pet Photos

Taken from "Whats hacked you off today?" thread:

Quote:
Ive got three dogs (mongrels) and a parrot

1 = Rottweiler + Border Collie - 8 Months old "Zion"
2 = Alsation + Dobleman - 16/17 years old "Windsor"
3 = Collie + more things than I can remember - 4 years old "Patch"
4 = African Grey Parrot (Grey and Red) "Puppet"

Zion is one hell of a dopey dog - He finds it amusing to chew/demolish through anything and everything. The other day he managed to chew not just the shoe lace, but the whole trainer (which I must add was brand new) and then finds time to attack the tree in the garden and tries to bring in the biggest branch he can find (doesn't fit through the door)

Re: Pet Photos

Alsation + Dobleman - 16/17 years old "Windsor"

It's obvious by the age that you must take excellent care or your dogs. My wife feeds ours hundenflaken? (I know thats not the right spelling), but it's great dog food. It should be at $45/38#'s. Our dogs better live into their 20's with the care/money we spend on them!
We had a cockatoo who was mean to the little dogs. Homer, who is very protective of them, put an end to Elmo's evil ways. He was a $1500 bird, but only my wife could go near him. I didn't shed any tears, but it upset the wife something fierce

Re: Pet Photos

We had to put our old Boxer Lab mixed breed dog Brandy down on memorial day. She was 15 but had developed a brain tumor causing seizures.

Our pup Eve is a 9 month old Staffordshire terrier(aka pitbull), my wife rescued her from the middle of a busy trafficway on new years eve. Since then Eve is also short for Eve of destruction... She can destroy even the supposedly almost indestructable black kong toy's.

Of course Eve is getting lonely without Brandy so the wife has convinced me to get another dog we are picking up a 9 week old female red brindle boxer tonight.

We have 2 cats, the oriental short hair has in the past eaten almost an entire sandel she is quite destructive for a 5lb cat.

My son has a Ball Python, Snappy is the best pet of them all he is quite only needs fed twice a month and doesn't tear anything up.

I will get some pic's tonight.

Thanks

My last dog I had to have put down was 21, he was the oldest dog on the vets books. My dogs are all mongrels which have proved both to be stronger (in their genes etc) and also live longer.

It hurts when your dog dies or you have to have your dog put down - or any animal for that matter - but its a stage through life you have to go through when owning a pet.

Attached is a picture of Late Max (he would have been 24 this year)

Re: Pet Photos

Do you guys have to shave your pets over there or is it a personal thing? My sister in law shaves her dogs every year - Ive never had to in all my life.

we shave Dog every year.. it gets too hot in the summer for him otherwise.. he looks really odd once we have done it.. Sideshow hates it until Dog's fur grows back

Re: Pet Photos

Jack wears a coat during winter, whippets hate the cold. Dressed in his coat he looks a lot like an armadillo.
