Formula 1 Motor Racing..

Does anyone else on here follow this.. What are your thoughts on the season so far...

Good new for us Brits... Hamilton is in pole position

Good news for Maclaren.. they have both 1st and 2nd spot for the first time since Monza 2007

Re: Formula 1 Motor Racing..

I do, last year I was in Spain watching the GP when Massa won - I hope to go to Silverstone for its last GP (Before its off to Donnington) and maybe to the Night Race when its all up and running.

Hamilton is a skilled driver, he has been ever since he was young. I just dont want the fame getting to his head and screwing up his career.

I'm also happy that they have turned off the traction control for 2008, the drivers seemed to rely on computers to help them drive - back in the goldern days it was the driver, and the car (well a few electronics but that was it)

Re: Formula 1 Motor Racing..

I have watched Formular 1 racing since I was a teenager, and watch most races every year without fail..

I agree with you on the issue of the traction control, I think it made for much better racing when it was the drivers skill which won the races for them, not a gizmo ladened car..

Re: Formula 1 Motor Racing..

Blah, blah, blah.

Gilles Villeneuve died. Jacques has left. I don't care what happens from here on in.

Actually I do care. I want to see a Honda motor regain success. If only Jacques could find a winner with a Honda engine. Then I would be in heaven.

Re: Formula 1 Motor Racing..

Go Hamilton!

I have been watching F1 religiously for almost 10 years.

I am also glad to see the removal of electronic traction control. It provides for much a more exciting race day. I wonder what other form of top level racing they could apply this theory to. Hmm.....

Re: Formula 1 Motor Racing..

I a;ways watch the F1 racing, except on days like today for example, we have world superbikes on so F1 must wait until later on. Thankyou recording devices!!!!

No traction control is the bizz and Hamilton is one good driver, I hope he does'nt choose to become at total prat, like so many before him.

Re: Formula 1 Motor Racing..

That was a good race. I never feel pity when Ferarri have a bit of misfortune, kimi excepted, it harks back to Schumacher days. Never was a fan of his.

Yeah I try to follow the F1, I'm a bit of a Hamilton fan I must admit.

Re: Formula 1 Motor Racing..

I used to love f1. But the last straw for me was after the debacle over Alonso/Hamilton/ Ron Denis. Hamilton suck his arrogant little neck out just a little too far for me, especially when it is obvious to all that no one, but no one would be able to put one thing on one of those cars without Ron Denis knowing about it.
Denis invested too much to lose Hamilton so he defended him to the hilt while passing the buck to Alonso. A sad day.

Btw, Ghbzorro, Giles was one hell of a driver and I personally watched with horror his last race (as I did for Senna - my hero), but his son was only ever a pale reflection.

Hamilton may be a good driver but he's most definitely an arrogant little pr*ck who has let the fame get to his head. Oh well.

Ive seen news articles on the web about that as well.. and considering he's just doing it as a hobby he's not doing badly at all.. 4th on his debut race and podium spots in other races..

As for Hamiliton.. I guess I just want to see a Brit win

Yes, I still watch even here in the US. I hear that the Red Bulls owner is restoring the A1 Ring in Austria and that he wants to bring back a F1 race.

No issues there, Loopy, and he certainly has the ability to do so. I just wish this particular Brit would take a leaf from the books of Mike Hawthorn, Jim Clark, John Surtees, Graham Hill or Jackie Stewart. I would then have the utmost respect for him. Sadly, I think those days are long gone...
