Who is going to watch the Olympic games?

Well they don't have any motor racing in the Olympics but I do enjoy some of the sports. Then again some of the sports that get in make you wonder (swimmin in cirlces under water with a peg on yoru nose, seriously?), anyway I'm sure I will watch some of it on the box. It's a pity they are in China, I feel for the athletes having to compete in such a poluted place even if it is the same for all competitors. Given that the world is trying to reduce polution I find it strange they would even award the games to a country with such disgusting air quality. How about this, clean up your act and then you will be considered to host the games. Leave the money out of it and think about the athletes first? What a joke.

Re: Who is going to watch the Olympic games?

Ah the Olympics. I like em because it gives me chance to watch some of the more obscure sports out there that i'd not normally see. Although i'm anti any sport the is marked on artistic merit IMO it should be the fastest , highest , longest ect

It wasn't me, honest !

Re: Who is going to watch the Olympic games?

I personally much prefer the winter games.. I would LOVE to try some of the bobsleigh sports.. I reckon it would be brilliant to do that..

Re: Who is going to watch the Olympic games?

I don't support where they chose to hold the games at all. Its a joke to be honest. I'll be watching the cycling, that goes without saying. Road race 1st time trial 2nd then the track cycling. I'll also keep an eye on the swimming. I have little or no interest in the track and field events. In terms of the boys doing the road race I pity them. Their poor poor lungs. The riders should shun the race and prepare for the vuelta Espana and world champs.

It has nothing to do with politics, money and future business

So that would remove gymnastics and sync swimming.
If its anti-judging then it would also include diving and boxing.

I dont mind it being judged - but Im like you - anti artistic component. If you need to wear makeup, your uniform is called a costume and how it looks matters or if you have to smile - then its not sport, its competitive art.

I just want to watch the fights in the stands between India and Pakistan during the cricket matches, and between Brazil and Spain during the soccer (football) matches.

Re: Who is going to watch the Olympic games?

They have some questionable sports, anything that involves a horse for example?

If they added A convert horse to dogfood* event at the end of the stage.. it could be quite interesting

*or glue! but prefer dogfood. quickest from standing to can wins.you could get points for additional flavours.. say.... Dobbin and Decathlete

As long as I fall, I don't hit the ground. As long as I fall, I'm safe & sound.

Re: Who is going to watch the Olympic games?

Well I think its a skill for sure, just not an Olympic sport by any stretch, I think in the jumping event at least 6 riders got thrown over the handlebars today. Now they might make that jump 50 times in a row and then on number 51 the horse gets a flea up it's nose and it's all over. It's a raffle and the horse is way to much of a variable, why not bull fighting and rodeo in it's place? it wont' ever happen.

Re: Who is going to watch the Olympic games?

Never bull fighting, but Rodeo's got a chance. IMHO, it's far more entertaining than watching some pillock lopping a round on walking dog food!

Blazing Saddles - fantastic movie. But sadly, I don't think it would be allowed

Re: Who is going to watch the Olympic games?

Dumb sport, the horse should get the medal, not the midget on top

22 days until it begins...
