Re: Stop Smoking Thread

Good luck to all of you trying to give up the weed. I'm the biggest idiot on the planet...... as I gave it up for 18 years and then started again!

Some advice to all of you. Don't ever think that you've kicked it. I made that mistake. One night whilst out with the lads I thought.....Mmmm, I wonder! That was it....within a week I was smoking like I'd never stopped.....still am!!

Keep your guard up peeps!!

Re: Stop Smoking Thread

I suck at quitting all around....the thing that bothers me is people that try to force you to quit (bitchy ex's) who don't understand why you don't quit..."I'm not going to quit because you want me to, I'm going to have to quit because I want to"

Re: Stop Smoking Thread

It all comes down to will power... and if you have set your mind to actually stopping for a valid reason, not because someone else says you should.

Do something to take your mind off things, eat fruit (if you dont, start eating it), do exercise (as you may gain a few pounds when you quit (your taste buds "come back"))

Good luck to everyone trying...

Tell that to the Thais! Most won't wear a helmet even though its law. So if your visor's up and you come up behind one who's smoking, you end up getting hot ash in the eye

Btw, it's only ever the Thai men that do smoke on the bike!

Re: Stop Smoking Thread

I dont have any addictions, well none that i want to discuss, but i always figured the easiest way to it would be to just not buy them. you cant smoke if you dont have them. that and keep your distance from people that do. Will power will power will power!!! Good luck yo.

Re: Stop Smoking Thread

I quit cold turkey almost 3 months ago. Before that, I had gotten down to only smoking when I drink, so it wasn't that hard. I don't even think about smoking anymore.

Re: Stop Smoking Thread

Congrats on giving up - I bet it saves a bob or two (More money to spend on fuel and goodies - and less time stopping for a quick ciggie)
