Daughter hit by hit and run driver this morning

She's in the hospital in Houston. The car I just bought her is totaled.
Luckily I had PIP added to the policy...

Re: Daughter hit by hit and run driver this morning

Not the sort of new I want to see in the morning. It is my hope that your daughter was just shaken up a bit & should be back to her home shortly. Hit-&-run incidents are the scum of drivers & fit with those drunk on booze or high on drugs & should not be driving.

Re: Daughter hit by hit and run driver this morning

What kind of injuries did she sustain? I hope that she isn't too badly off. I'll remember her in my prayers for you.
Have they found any witnesses as to the type of car, color, etc.?
This kind of news sucks.

Re: Daughter hit by hit and run driver this morning

Figment, my sincere condolences. It might be hard to do at a moment like this, but let's all concentrate on the fact she survived. As you well know, the car can be replaced. Not the case with your little girl. Here's to a full and speedy recovery, as well as the other driver being located and prosecuted to the fullest extent the law allows.

I just came in from an early morning shooting. A retired police officer, now 81 years old, shot himself through the head. Typing some e-mail and drinking some coffee, trying to get my mind off of it. Snowy Saturday mornings are supposed to be calm and quiet.

What a goofy world...

Wow! Very sorry to hear this figment. I sincerely hope your daughter is OK and has no "down-the-road" health problems from this. And I also sincerely hope that the scumbag that did this is reeled in and incarcerated

From what I know, the car is in two pieces. She said her neck was hurt and thats all I know at this point. Thanks for the kind responses. This is going to be tough to deal with.

THAT SUCKS!! When I read the headline I was HOPING it was some news story you were going to post...and not about YOUR Daughter. I am so sorry...

Make sure you check around like a 5-10 miles radius of BODY SHOPS...a car that crashed that hard and was able to drive away?? I am sure the body shops in your area can help, like if anyone brought in a F*** up car. That might help.

I hope for a quick recovery and you find the chicken SH** bastard....to just take off...and not even checking if the person inside was injured. Karma will get him back. I mean...I can ALMOST...and I say ALMOST...see when bastards hit and run a parked car...still a bastard...but I mean....HIT a CAR WITH SOMEONE INSIDE?? and STILL TAKE OFF?? My god....

take care of your daughter...clear your mind a little..and then focus on finding that loser!

"But you can take my word for it, your mother had it coming. When you grow up, if you still feel raw about it, I'll be waiting."

Black Mamba

Re: Daughter hit by hit and run driver this morning

Thank God she's OK. The forces necessary to destroy a car like that are tremendous - She's very lucky, and you are really blessed. Keep us updated on her progress.

Probably a stolen car to boot, which will make it more difficult to find the assholes. Hopefully I am wrong and the driver will be in custody soon.

Re: Daughter hit by hit and run driver this morning

It sounds like your daughter didn't get seriously hurt thank god. Drivers like that bring out the anger in most of us. I hope you find them and give them what they deserve!
