Trojan 'virus' keeps invading my computer

It's really annoying. I keep scanning using anti-virus software and it gets rid of it, but it comes back. I'm also using Spybot 'search and destroy' and it read some weird address written in German with dll.dll address attached.

I'm not familiar with Trojan stuff (lol, computer trojan stuff ).
Anyone have info on this? I've searched the web and can't get info on this (just general Trojan virus).

Try Ad Aware. Best way to nuke it is to format and re-install. If you know the name of the Trojan, go to Symantec.com and see if they have a removal tool for it.

I thought Trojans were just code and you can't really reformat it.
Here's the funky error message I get:

Zugriffsverletzung bei Adresse 77F57EB2 in Modul 'ntdll.dll'. Lesen von Adresse 000AD965

Re: Trojan 'virus' keeps invading my computer

This is kind of a shot in the dark with limited info but some viruses establish a foothold that downloads a payload. Normal virus scanning removes the payload but not the foothold so the payload just gets downloaded again. I don't know which virus you're dealing with or if it's even a virus as opposed to spyware but you might give McAfee Stinger a try. As the web site states it's not a replacement for standard scanning. Rather it's a tool designed to clean systems already infected by particular types of viruses. If your virus isn't one of them I guess it won't help but it can't hurt to try since it's free. You can download it here. Good luck, I hope it helps.

Thanks! I was told that the address I posted is a standard error message. I checked my anti-virus memo and it found "trojan" something virus twice today. I might install a better program to get rid of it.

Here's what my antivirus is displaying:
Detecting a Trojan Horse Dowloader.Stubby.A

Download zonealarm firewall to prevent the virus from phoning home. Then you might want to try a free virus software called AVG. It's always worked very well for me.

LOL, I have Zone alarm. It's always on. AND, I'm using AVG. That's the one that's detecting the virus.

My ADD only allowed 5 minutes of research , but if you download "hijackthis" available here. Following the instructions from Spywareinfo Support Forums and they should be able to help you. I did a quick search and found people with similiar problems here

Try more lube...<ahem>...sorry...

I had something similar happen to me. I downloaded HijackThis and was able to see it and remove it.

Bikes and women - both have nice curves.
