Re: Honda Jet Video

It needs a pair of red wings on the tail. Anyone think they might put a hurting on the other small business jet manufacturers?

Re: Honda Jet Video

There was a short article in Red Rider, and some new information on their website.
http://world.honda.com/AircraftEngines/

Sounds like they are partnering with GE to market their engine...

Re: Honda Jet Video

This makes me ponder the question, "If Harley made planes, would you fly in one?"

Re: Honda Jet Video

I'm sure it'll have Showa landing gear. Probably have to replace the voltage regulator every 5,000 hours though.

Re: Honda Jet Video

They partnered with GE Aircraft Engines a year ago and had an impressive display booth last week at NBAA (National Business Aviation Assoc.) which is where I was held hostage - the convention, not the GE/Honda booth

Their target markets are the rapidly developing VLJ - Very LightJet - manufacturers such as Eclipse and Cessna (Mustang). There are about 10 different companies competing to be first to market with a small jet that will seat 3-4 passengers for personal use and for air taxi.

The a/c is still flying development missions but Honda have not announced any plans for production. I used to work at the facility in NC where they designed and built both the airframe and the engine and it is an impressive little machine. Honda actually flew the jet to Oshkosh this past year to display it at the EAA convention which makes one wonder if they are planning on production.

Probably more information than you wanted to know

Proofread carefully to see if you any words out.
