This is Broken Hill, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrlD22HwPvI
and this is where I live on the coast a few thousand kilometers away. Thats dust, looks like fog or misty rain but it is'nt. There is a red dust coating on everything.

I started off with nothing and still have most of it left.

Re: Dust storm. Check this out.

That's amazing, as well as being annoying with all that dust.

Are there any health risks associated with breathing in the dust?

Yeah, especially if you have respiratory problems. There have been warnings all day on the radio and telling everyone to stay inside if at all possible.
Where I was working today the brickies had masks on and I spotted a few people driving with them on as well.
To make matters worse, there are gale force winds as well, not very pleasant working outside let me tell you.

You're not wrong, even when I'm chewing gum it eventually turns gritty.
Also have to redo all the washing that was on the line. All the whites have turned a pink, tan colour.
Thank god it only happens once in a blue moon.

Damn that looks nasty. We get something similar here (only once in a blue moon also, thank god) So we get Hot winds driving the dust as THIS explains,....
