Just don't do it people. That was very graphic skeeter, but a good post. We all need a little reminder now and again.

Great video and if it makes just one person decide not to drink and drive, it has served its purpose

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you...

Re: Must see

Maybe it'll make some people think twice, but IMHO I reckon a lot of drink drivers will carry on regardless of adverts. A lot of people are alcohol dependant so some degree, whether they realise it or not. People who 'just have a can in the evening' or 'just a glass of wine with dinner', or can't wait for the weekend to have a drink. It amazes me how many people there are like this.

I reckon a lot of people will go out intending not to drink, but when they get caught up in the atmosphere and 'everyone else' is drinking, it's easy to develop a distorted view and think one or two will be OK.

The other classic I have heard is 'I can handle it' or 'I drink regularly so 1 or 2 won't affect me'. Well if they don't affect you then why drink them in the first place??

I can't say I'm a great fan of alcohol. Anyone who gets caught drink driving deserves to have the book thrown at them.

Re: Must see

Thats a brilliant video, actually Ive just loaded it up to my Facebook.

Its not aimed at those that are drink dependant thats just a waste of time, unfortunately. Although some of them may leave their car hopefully. I think its those that cause serious injury innocently (if thats the correct term here).
People do meet up or on the way home, have a beer maybe two and tragedy strikes, which maybe one small lapse in a whole lifetime, but something that will destroy lifes from the victims to their family, the driver and their family.
But those that flaunt the drink driving rule should be locked up I have no time for them.

I believe that there should be zero limit when driving.........no alcohol at all, that would stop Joe average from taking a beer or two and maybe destroying his remaining life and others.

Be safe folks think, what if?

These are exactly the people I am talking about - not necessarily the traditional image of an alcoholic who is smashed 24/7 but Joe Average who looks forward to a few drinks and drinks any amount regularly. To me that's a level of alcohol dependancy, just as someone who smokes only a few cigarettes a day is still a smoker.

It amazes me how so many people have a flippant attitiude towards alcohol. Last Xmas I drove with my wife & in-laws to someone's house for afternoon drinks. The amount of grief I got for not drinking was a joke. Needless to say I won't be visiting these people again.

I agree that this flippant attitude is to commonplace, same thing happened to me when I visited some friends, got offered wine. But there was no hassle when I declined and took tea instead.

Re: Must see

Do not drink and drive. Do NOT drink and ride. We are all far too vulnerable.

Think about it this way. What have you got to gain? If you've had a couple drinks, what do you have to gain by jumping in your car and driving home? You get home an hour sooner. Big deal.

Now, what have you got to gain by staying put, chilling your heels and drinking liquids until you sober up? You'll get to bed that much later, gee, shame. But you reduce your chances of dying nearly exponentially. Fully half of all motorcycle deaths in the US are alcohol related. You can always get that much more sleep. You can't get that much more life.
