Energy from Wind

Wind energy is the most cost effective and resourceful source of green energy. The alternate sources of energy include wind, sun and the ocean. When the sun shines, it heats up the earth surface, which in turn creates blowing winds. The blowing wind turns the blades of the wind turbine that rotates the generator which produces electricity.

The technology in the field of wind energy has advanced over the years and so has the wind power investment opportunities. This sure is indicative of a bright future ahead for the wind energy industry. The wind turbines available today are of two varieties: 2 blades and 3 blades. Large wind turbines have a capacity of above 50 kilowatts.

With the help of wind energy, the energy consumption in a residence can be reduced by 50% to 90%. Excess energy produced by the wind energy systems can be utilized by selling it to the public utility company.

Re: Energy from Wind

Sorry, wind energy BLOWS. No Pun! It does however create many jobs and make us feel more green. Also nobody seems too crazy about having them in their backyards. Plus poor birds getting killed by those big bad blades though. Can't we slow them down a bit?

i have worked at a wind tower manufactuing plant for the past 3 years, and yes wind is a cheap means of electricity, makes things green as they say, and take very little wind to opperate, the big problem with them is sales, there have been studies done that test where windfarms would be efficient, midwest, west coast, upper east coast there are several companies we build towers for but at 2.3 mil a piece not including the turbine and blades just the tower itself, its hard for those companies to purchase towers hire a construction company capable of putting them up and maintenance to keep them opperational is not really that far out there but far enough investors want something out of their money alot sooner, i wish they would be selling left and right because that would mean more hours more money in my pocket but the economy just doesnt support that kind of spending as much as i hate to say it
