Re: Dobermans?

Former I had "Ziggy" for 12yrs. Red/Tan, ears intact, tail was already done when we got him. He was a lot bigger than the average doberman, I think his last recorded weight was like 120 or so (not one drop of fat either). Best dog ever! Funny as hell too...

Re: Dobermans?

I've had dobermans too. One black & tan, the other was tawny which is a rare color....we had to put a hunter orange collar on him because he was a big boy and people would assume he was a deer when seen in the woods. My pop had a black & tan Dobie too. They're all lap dogs. All were cropped too. I don't like the non-cropped look for the tail or ears, and that includes the incorrectly cropped tails which are usually too long.

Yup, they all ..even the "dainty" girls . That's probably because they eat too fast. If I recall correctly, because it's been a long time since my last dog, my vet said you can give them Digel (sic) before they eat to help them with the .

I would love to get another Dobie for a pet.

LOL! My brother also has a Dobe and we were talking over X-Mas - you haven't experienced a dog-bomb until you've been awoken from a dead sleep by the smell!!

Re: Dobermans?

Nice. I didn't think so many would be blessed by them. Mine is 13.5 weeks old now;a female. We're having some housebreaking problems though. Her ears were done about 3 wks ago and her tail was done by the breeders. Unfortunately it's too long.

Oh well. She's still a great dog despite the housebreaking stuff.
